Fred
Fred, known in the UK as Roland on the Ropes (Amstrad CPC version only), is a video adventure game created in 1983 and distributed first by Indescomp, then by Made in Spain in Spain, and by Amsoft in the UK. It is one of the first Spanish games, along with La Pulga, to achieve commercial distribution outside of Spain. It was released for the ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, and Commodore 64.
You play as Fred (Roland in the British version), an explorer armed with a pistol, who is exploring tombs filled with labyrinthine horizontal and vertical tunnels, teeming with ropes you can climb up or down and treasures to collect. But they’re also riddled with traps and enemies like ghosts, mummies, and animals.
